Google Vault is an electronic discovery (eDiscovery) and information archiving (Archiving) service. It helps an organization manage legal risks by systematically protecting emails and files of cancelled or deleted accounts.
Based on the organization’s policy (Retention rules), even if an employee intentionally or accidentally deletes an email (including from the Trash), Vault stores it for a predetermined period. An administrator can find and restore any email through search.
